Welcome to VedaCarrier("we", "our", or "us"). VedaCarrier is an AI Career Intelligence Platform and Chrome Extension designed to help professionals manage their career trajectory using a personal Career Knowledge Graph.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our website at vedacarrier.comand our Chrome Extension ("VedaCarrier ATS & Career Assistant").

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum necessary information required to provide our services:

• Account & Identity Data: Your name, email address, and encrypted authentication credentials when you register.
• Career & Profile Data: Work history, skills, education, achievements, and resumes uploaded to build your personal Career Knowledge Graph.
• Chrome Extension & Vacancy Data: Job posting titles, company names, and vacancy descriptions extracted from target job board pages (such as LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.) when you activate the Extension.
• Authentication & Session Tokens: Secure JWT tokens stored in chrome.storage to maintain your logged-in session.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used strictly for the following purposes:

• Calculating real-time ATS compatibility scores and identifying skill gaps against job postings.
• Generating tailored resumes and cover letters derived from your verified Career Knowledge Graph.
• Maintaining your secure user account and authenticating session requests.
• Improving platform performance and diagnostic debugging (using aggregated metrics).
• Producing aggregated statistics and analytics, as described in Section 4.

4. Aggregated Statistics & Analytics

We produce aggregated statistical information about how the service is used and about the job market. Aggregated statistics describe groups of users, not individuals — for example:

• Demand for particular skills and the popularity of technologies across all users.
• How often analyses, resumes, cover letters and interviews are completed, and how they perform.
• Accuracy and quality measurements for our matching algorithms and AI pipeline.

Such figures do not identify any individual, and we may retain and use them after your account is deleted (see Section 7). We may publish or share these aggregate insights; we never sell your personal data (see Section 5).

We implement industry-standard security measures to safeguard your information:

• Encryption at Rest: Sensitive personal data is encrypted using AES-256 in our database.
• Encryption in Transit: All web and extension communications use HTTPS / TLS 1.3 encryption.
• Raw File Ephemerality: Uploaded resume files (PDF/DOCX) are deleted immediately after structured data extraction.

7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)

You maintain full ownership of your data at all times:

• Data Export: You can export a complete JSON dump of all your profile data at any time via GET /api/v1/users/me/data-export.
• Account Deletion: You can delete your account via DELETE /api/v1/users/me/account. After deletion of your account, we delete your personal data. We may retain aggregated statistical information and analytics that no longer identify any individual (see Section 4).
• Inactive Accounts: Accounts with no activity for more than 24 months are deleted automatically under the same rules. Any use of the platform — signing in, editing your career graph, tracking an application, generating a document — counts as activity and restarts the 24-month period.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use "Strictly Necessary" cookies and similar technologies to operate our services. These are essential for the platform to function properly and securely.

• Authentication & Sessions: We use HTTP-only cookies and/or chrome.storage to maintain your logged-in state and secure your session.
• UI Preferences: We may use functional cookies to remember your interface preferences (e.g., sidebar state).
• No Marketing Tracking: We do not use third-party tracking cookies, pixels, or scripts for marketing, advertising, or cross-site tracking purposes.

Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, we do not require a cookie consent banner under GDPR or CCPA.
